Up to 16 inches of snow possible in NYC, NJ: Latest storm forecast, weekend timeline
A powerful winter storm is expected to bring up to 16 inches of snow and frigid temperatures to the NYC area, including parts of NJ and CT, this weekend.
A winter storm is headed to the Tri-State Area with heavy snow expected. New Yorkers could see 6-12 inches Saturday night into Monday.
What to Know A foot or more of snow could blanket the NYC area this weekend, as much of the U.S. is bracing for a massive winter storm. Parts of the region, like Poughkeepsie, could see 18+ inches. It appears the storm will arrive Sunday morning and will lead to hours of snowfall.
The National Weather Service is projecting anywhere from 6 to 18 inches, while AccuWeather’s forecast is more conservative, calling for 6 to 8 inches.
The Memorial Art Gallery will be closing at 3:30 p.m. Sunday due to the winter weather advisory. The museum’s regular hours are 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Wednesday – Sunday. The MAG is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Visit the MAG website here for more information.
What to Know A whopper of a winter storm is set to impact a large chunk of the U.S. – from Texas to the East Coast – this weekend. It’s unclear this far in advance just how much we might get. A northern track means the low-pressure system will be closer to the tri-state and snow is more likely.
