The City Council has unanimously approved an ordinance amending the Pocatello municipal code to eliminate the majority requirement and runoff process in mayoral elections.

Perry Boyle has filed a challenge to the election, asking the court to nullify the confirmed Nov. 4 results and hold a new election, according to a release by Blaine County. Boyle’s challenge focuses on the way candidate names appeared on ballots in each precinct.
