The proposed Formosa Plastics plant is on top of two historic cemeteries. Experts believe they contain the remains of formerly enslaved people who lived and worked on the plantations. Formosa knew about the cemeteries for over a year and kept it a secret, and now just put a fence around it. We cannot let Formosa defile gravesites and destroy the history of St. James Parish.
