Water from the Great Artesian Basin, rising up under it's own pressure from about 1.5km underground. At our bore the water comes out at about 94°C, so it has to pass through a cooling system before it goes into the various poly pipe lines that take it to our tanks and troughs. Our poly pipe doesn't like very high temperatures and we don't want it imitating overcooked spaghetti. This float manages the flow of water into the cooling pond, which contains a grid of pipework in the cool deeper water.
